Billing & Retainers Professional Executive Protection is expensive. All protective details are paid for in advance. Assignments are conducted on a contract and retainer basis only. A minimum of 50% of the estimated billing is due prior to any advance work. The balance is due 24 hours prior to the commencement of the detail. Contingencies are billed following the assignment. Professional Investigations that are done right are not cheap. You probably pay your plumber $65 and hour to fix your toilet. Investigations are also billed on a retainer basis. The amount of the retainer depends on the scope of the services desired by the client. Clients are billed on an hourly basis per investigator working on the case, plus mileage, and costs. Costs would include things such as video tapes, meals out of town, airfare, hotel/motel expense, etc. We periodically review with the client the progress of the investigation and billing. Training courses vary in expense depending on the length of the course and expenses related to it. Expenses are range rental, purchase of range loads, etc. Courses are limited in size and space is reserved by payment of the course tuition listed with the course descriptions.
